Michael and Lisa are a young married couple who are on the verge of losing their home. Their luck changes when Michael, while on a photo-shoot at the historic Betty’s Hope Estate (an old sugar plantation), discovers an ancient vase and sells it to an antique dealer.
The couple gets little time to celebrate their good fortune before strange things begin to happen. First their house is ransacked, the antique dealer is found dead and Lisa gets an unusual mark on her stomach. She tries to get medical help but when that doesn’t work, they are introduced to a Jamaican medicine-man. He informs them that the ancient relic was not really a blessing but a curse and they had inadvertently given new life to a dormant soucuoyant (a vampire).
They must trap and destroy the soucouyant or risk losing their lives and the life of their unborn child.

indicate the extreme hours and effort HAMA’s beautiful producers/directors

I don’t think Jamaican’s know about Soucouyah? They know bout “duppy”!
I think that medicine man must be a Haitian or a Dominican or Trini – you sure you not confusin his nationality??!!
Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing The Skin – hoping it gets air on Caribbean TV networks like CMC/CaribVision, and that we can buy the DVD in our respective islands.
One Caribbean love..
Jamaican’s have a version of the soucouyant it’s called “old hig.” Our medicine man (actor Carl Bradshaw) know bout ebry ting!
I’m sure it will get to CaribVision and DVD. Have you seen the other films?
Peace
